Over the course of my career as a lawyer, entrepreneur, coach, art lecturer, and artist, I’ve experienced firsthand how intuitive, process-oriented work, authenticity, and creative thinking not only enhance artistic expression, but also support better decision-making, solution-focused thinking, and professional transitions — all while helping to significantly reduce stress.
The exercises and visual prompts offered in the Lawyers Circle are inspired by decades of research and teaching by Betty Edwards, as well as my own experience as a freelance art lecturer at various art academies, both in Germany and abroad. These approaches have accompanied and supported me on my personal journey — from practicing lawyer to art educator and professional artist.
It’s deeply important to me to share these experiences — experiences that have opened countless new doors in my life. In doing so, I hope to help dispel the myth that creativity is reserved for a chosen few. Or, to borrow the words of Picasso:
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
I am an artist, passionate teacher, author, and lawyer with international experience—or, to sum it all up: an ArtPreneur.
I lead the kunstfreiraum studio in Oberwil near Basel and, since 2019, have been teaching the ancient painting techniques of encaustic and fresco at different art academies in Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, and the USA. As a speaker and instructor, I have been invited to present at the International Encaustic Conference in Provincetown (2023–2025) as well as the IEA Encaustic Conference in Ireland (2024). I am a member of the Swiss Association of Women Artists (SGBK) and the International Encaustic Artists (IEA).
Alongside exhibitions both in Switzerland and abroad, I have developed several foundational online courses on encaustic painting, cold wax, and fresco techniques, and published the book “Der Ideenfänger zum Kaltwachs 1×1.” My artworks are represented by the Jeff Soderbergh Gallery for Sustainable Art in Wellfleet, USA.
Prior to placing art at the heart of my journey, I spent ten years as a lawyer in the international life sciences industry. For another decade, I ran my own executive search boutique in Zurich as a recruiter and certified coach, specializing in placing and career coaching for national and international attorneys and in-house lawyers.
Today, I live with my husband near Basel, draw inspiration from the natural world, and occasionally enjoy a round of golf.
